Hard shifts
I dont know much about trans's so any info will help out. I got a 700r4 on my '85 and it seems like everyday my trans shifts harder and harder. The engine and trans does have about 150 k on it so im sure thats part of the problem but is there anything i could do without taking it to a trans shop. Would this be a problem with the TV cable adjustment or is the trans just gettin old. Also I have no records of the trans fluid being changed, would fresh fluid make a nice difference?
Thanks

Re: Hard shifts
Both of those are good starting points, often times a maladjusted TV cable does end up being the culprit. It controls line pressure throughout the trans. If you're interested I did a thread a while ago called "Improving early th700's" about upgrading early th700's to iroc/corvette specs that would help you out alot.

Re: Hard shifts
X2. Good time to get it serviced and correctly reset the TV cable
