Part # for TV cable..

I'm looking for a gm part number for a tv cable for a carbed vehicle. I bought an aftermarket one but it came with an o-ring seal on it which is nothing like the sleaved seal from the factory. I've tried it with the o-ring seal and it leaks terribly, I've tried it with the factory seal and same story, I've also tried it with BOTH seals installed to no avail... the part says "Made in Isreal" on it anyway can someone point me in the right direction? I'm assuming I need both the cable and the seal unless they come togather.. All I wanted was a shorter cable as I did a carb swap and its a pain to try to coil up the much longer tpi one..

Re: Part # for TV cable..

I got one aftermarket made by Pioneer. There are 2 seals. The one that is in the tranny hole is about a 1/2" deep, ribbed on the outside and looks like a dipstick seal. At the base of the TV mount there is a recessed inlay groove on the bottom and a squared o-ring up in there. Maybe you are missing one of those. But both my stock one and aftermarket ones had both. GM dealer should be able to get you the GM part #. Sorry I do not have it

The Pioneer replacement cables look identical to the originals. See if you can get one of those for a TBI car. The TBI cable is quite a bit shorter than the TPI one. In fact, it's probably about the same length as a carb style cable. You may have better luck than me though. I needed a new one for my TBI car, so I ordered the Pioneer one that's supposedly for TBI, and it was the same length as a TPI cable. TBI cars are pretty easy to find in the junkyard though, so I just pulled an original TBI one at the yard and put it on.
