Im looking to buy a posi and 3.42 gear setup for my 92 camaro. It has in it now 2.73 gears and its an open rear end. The unit I found that I want to buy is out of an 88 camaro (thats all i know) and it is 3.42 and posi. Will it fit on the axil's in my 92? Basically I need to know what the spline count is in the rear end of a 92 camaro with my specs. I can't find that information anywhere! Anybody know off-hand what my axil spline count is? So I don't have to go pull it out. Thanks!

 

The 88, providing it's a 10 bolt, will have 26 spline axles. Your 92 will have 28 spline axles.

 

If I was to buy axil's out of an 88 would they fit in my 92? Or would they have disk brakes, mine are drums. Or if I was to go find a 28 spline posi what would be the size I am looking for ie: 7.5 , 7.625 , 8.5 , etc. Would mine be a 10 bolt? Or if we're not sure how do I find out? I know, I know nothing and I sound like a total idiot, but I don't know where else to go to find the information.
