VSS Speed Sensor

So, I'm planning a 700R4 to T-5 Swap in my 88 IROCZ, and have heard that there will be issues with the VSS Speed Sensor and the Lockout Solenoid. I hear that the lockout solenoid is simple to deal with by running a lead from the brake light wiring to the positive side of the solenoid, but the VSS seems a bit more complicated.

Currently, my 700R4 utlizes a cable to drive the speedometer. Do the T-5's use the same setup, or are they all electronic? Also, how would the VSS affect the ECM, if at all?

If there is a way to hook the VSS to the cable drive, please let me know.

Re: VSS Speed Sensor

Yes the T-5 can use a cable setup.

Your VSS is already hooked to the cable; it's a little yellow box behind the speedo itself; you don't have to do anything else.
