looking to make my 700r4 stronger. from what iv'e read the transgo shift kit is the best. what does a servo do? allow wot shifts correct? so i would need the 4th gear one and not 2nd gear

 

the servo allows a more firm apply of the 2-4 band. you need the 2nd gear one if using the corvette style. the 4th is the same on all models. or you could use billet servos on both but some don't like that. i do


to get the wot upshift requires a kit to modify the throttle valve or transgo has a kit that modifies the 3-4 upshift valve itself. i have the transgo one and prefer it over the others. dana from probuilt automatics has instructions on here somewhere to modify your existing throttle valve. you will have to do a search to find it.

 

so what your saying is that i need the 2nd gear one when people say corvette servo. and the shiftkit wont allow wot shifts?

 

The Corvette servo improves 2nd & 3rd gear shifts. Most 700R4's will not make a WOT 3-4 shift. I add these instructions upon request to the shift kit, free of charge. It takes two allen screws ($0.17 each) and a dremel. Much better than $20.00 plus shipping for the aftermarket sleeve and valve. If you install the TransGo Performance Shift kit, it will allow much firmer 3-4 shifts with the stock 4th apply servo, no need for the aftermarket servo, unless you have very high HP (over 700HP).
