I have an '85 Firebird I got off of a friend about a year ago. He blew the tranny by doing burnouts for way too long. I (finally) got a transmission for it out of an '87 Firebird with a 305 TPI. The question is, how much power can a stock 700r4 take? My 'bird has a GM crate 350/350, so I was wondering if a stock tranny will work, or if I'll have to get an upgraded one. I tried installing a junkyard 700r4 (don't know what it was from) shortly after I got it, and it blew on the first test drive.
