'83 Bird with a th350
So my buddy told me that her 1983 bird cam with a th350 stock. I didnt think they ever put them in the 3rd gens. She is up in canada so maybe a canadian model? Can someone shed some light on this please?

It would be a TH200. It will say "METRIC" on the oil pan. It will have a hole in the back of the transmission housing for the torque arm to mount. The tailshaft will be one piece with the entire transmission case, instead of the 4 bolts to hold the tailshaft housing on.
The TH350 has NONE of those qualities. If someone put one in, at a minimun it will have a custom, aftermarket bracket to hook the torque arm up.
Lots of people think TH350 because it was a 3 speed auto. They forget about the crappy TH250 trannies used in the Skyhawks and Monzas and the crappier TH200 3 speeds used in all kinds of cars in the 80s. I even had one in a Delta 88 once!
