I have a 1986 Trans - Am with a 1975 chevy 350 with the TH350 Trans.Which rear -end do you guys recommend.Thanks

 

If you have a decent budget - like a couple thousand dollars - I recommend the Moser or Strange aftermarket axle assemblies. You pick, ford 9 inch or chevy 12 bolt, depending on what you like best. I personally like the Dana 60 that those guys make for our cars, but some people don't like the weight. I like the unsprung weight that it adds and you certainly don't ever have to worry about rear end failure again!

If you are on a budget, which your engine/trans combo seems to suggest, then keep trolling the classifieds and eBay for a third gen Dana 44. They were sold as a service replacement from the factory so they are a direct bolt in. I just found a 3.54 geared unit outside of Miami for under 400 bucks on eBay a few weeks ago so don't give up hope.
