got my car and it didnt have second gear,
rebuilt a differant trans.( new planatary's, new pump, cluthes, steels, shift recal kit) when I was done it flared and skipped second.....tranny shop had no clue cause everything they could check without takeing it out was good, now today I left 4 work and it wouldn't shift just like the old 1.....any ideas b4 I take the other trans there and do it again.......(supervised at the tranny shop this time) and this time it will be built as a vette trans with jumbo servo from tci and trans go kit

 

Sounds like you may have a throttle valve issue. I would check over the valve body very carefully particularly the throttle valve.
