rear disc questions

I am going to pick up a disc rear end this weekend. I have a few questions.

1. IIRC disc rears only came with 16" rims. Will a 15" or 14" still fit over them? My dailys are 16". But I have some 14" tires. Would also like to try my hand at drifting some day and would like to run 15" if possible during that time.

2. I am going to assume my inflate-a-spare will still fit due to thats what rear disc cars came with.

3. The rear is from a 92 model. I have an 88 style drum ebrake(even though its in a 91). Will the cables from the 92 fit in the 88 style front section. Or will I need to make a part to get this to work. I prefure having the adjustabilty of the early style.

4. Any glitches, problems, advise to do before install items? It already has the gears I want and posi.

Re: rear disc questions

well afaik the 15" rim will fit without issue. There are people using the 98+ 12 inch disks with massive calipers (compared to the pbrs) and running with 15" rims, so I am sure that the 11.65" disks will make it. The 14's might be a push You might have to grind down the caliper in some places not sure about that.

Re: rear disc questions

Yes, 15" rims fit. I have a Z28 with 4 wheel disc breaks and the factory 15" rims.

Re: rear disc questions

Thanks. Picked up the axle yesterday. I'll try to fit some 14" on it and see. If nothing else, I should beable to pick up some 15" s10 wheels or something that will work.

Re: rear disc questions

by measuring, I dont think 14" is gonna fit.

Next question. What are them black round things hanging from the calipers. Does it matter that the rubber inside is dry rotted and they are not sitting "square"?

Sorry, rear disc is all new to me.
