Should I buy a new transmission or rebuild my 700R4
Would it be cheaper to just rebuild my 700R4 or buy a new TH-400 and new torque converter? The bottom line is I want hard launching, tire-blazing shifts. I was thinking about the TransGo performance shift kit (TRG-700). For the rebuild kit I was looking at TCI Pro Super Transmission Overhaul Kit (TCI 378900). Enlighten me, and thanks for your help.

I would not even consider a non overdrive transmission. Have you ever built an auto trans before?

There are a lot of reasons it can slip -- worn valve body separator plate, worn bands, worn clutches, worn seals... I am far from an expert. But you really won't know until you tear down what happened. It won't be cheap to get a high quality master rebuild kit w/ shift improvers, but that would be the route I would go. Can't tell you what parts to get though, there is a guy on this board that specializes in 700R4s though and puts together kits.
