torque converters
i got a truck 700r4 im changing the tail housing on to use in my camaro
but it came with a caprice torque converter.
my question should I use the caprice torque converter or is there a good method to clean out my camaro's to get all the nasty out of it because I burnt up my old 700r4 pretty bad

Re: torque converters
My tranny shop told me when you blow through a transmission you should also get a new torque converter with that. My two cents

Re: torque converters
A good torque cheap torque converter for you would be one out of a 96+ 4.3 s10. Behind a 305 it should stall at about 2100 to 2400 rpm's IIRC.
Re: torque converters
i burned up my 700r4 and took it to amco and had them do the works to it, they put stage 3 shift kit- tranny cooler- 2500 torque conveter - took all computer out and made it completely hydrolics and vette servo and sungear sunshell and il tell u what my lil 305 will throw u in ur seat. that torque conveter is sick id highly recomend getting a new 1 - it makes a world of a difference

Re: torque converters
go to www.gmpartdirect.com and type in 24202310. That's the part number for the S10 converter. They retail at about 196.88 plus shipping.
