throwout bearing issues

ok, so hear the deal. i just put a new flywheel and clutch and throwout bearing in my TA. when i went to step on the clutch peddle, it felt unnaturally stiff, like the brakes. there was also this strange popping sound at the end of the peddle travel. i checked the hydrolic lines, and they were all in tact, so i decided that i would wonder about it later. i put the car on the ground, fired it up, and tried to put it in gear. i wouldn't go into any gear when running, so i shut it down, put it in gear, and fired it up. Much to my surprise, the car started moving with the peddle all the way to the floor. i pulled the tranny out today and discovered the throwout bearing had an issue that i am going to try to post pics of. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what caused this to happen to the bearing. i was thinking bad fork of pivot ball was not ajusted properly.

Re: throwout bearing issues

ok, so i figured out that the inside of the fork was what bent the bearing lip. So does anyone have a clue as to why the bearing was riding that far back in the fork?
