???

i have a 88 iroc 350 with a 5speed wen im driveing it and step on the gas the shifter in the car raises up what is going on

Maybe a transmission mount? I had an 89 TA with auto that the shifter would move as you are describing and it end up being that. Just something to check.

jsnico is exactly right, the transmission mount is broken, get a polyurethane one to replace it so you dont break it again.

someone told me today it could be a moter mount could that do it too?

unlikely, check the trans mount, its easy to replace. motor mounts on the other hand...
