can stock 700r4 handle 400ftlbs only on nos?
i would be making about about 400ftlbs(crank) and 300hp(crank) on the juice can my tranny handle that on occasion's when i hit the button

yea its only a matter of time that it could take that beating. I just blew my tranny in my car and its pushin about 500 and that was a built 700r4.You better make sure you have a ballooning torque converter for the nitrous though. Its also not good to spray in overdrive

I would definetly install a shift kit to help prolong the life of your stock tranny along with a corvette servo. Even then I wouldn't abuse it too hard

As an occasional thing it MAY last a while. But every time you get into it, it may be the end of the tranny. Mine has held for about 2 months of diving, and about half that was sideways. I am expecting it to die though.... and hoping so I have a reason for a T-56. Hughes has a real good street/strip 700R4, but it's $1,700.

The 700 is spec'd up to 350 ftlbs so you'd have to build it if it's to last.
(The TH-400 (3L80) and the 4L80 are spec'd up to 440 ftlbs.)
