Would this posi carrier work?

I want a good posi (not Eaton gov lock) but don't know how good the Zexel Torsen's are. Esp. with 64k on it. Will it still be a good unit? Anything I need to replace?

Here's the ebay listing

First it is called a LIMITED SLIP and NOT a posi. Even with 64 k, it is a good unit compared to others with the springs & plates, As long as it is 3-series and the price is less then $100 it could be a good deal.

Posi and Limited Slip are one in the same. Posi is just a GM term for limited slip. I think you are thinking open diff. instead of LSD.

Well, I know for a fact it's not less than $100. I bid $150 and it didn't meet reserve, so I think I'm giving up on it.

I posted another thread on here asking about open diff. for 3.23 and was quickly talked out of it, so I'm going posi ... besides, it would be a real shame to drop my 2.73 posi for taller gears with open diff. Just need to find the right carrier. Anybody got one for sale?

Limited Slip = Chevrolets name for Positraction =slang term posi. Call a part by its correct name Limited Slip. A open diff is just that.

Oh, you were just wanting me to use the correct terminology. Cool. I thought you were one of the dumba$$es that thought limited slip and non-posi were the same.

Well, I decided that since my 2.73 is posi (RPO G80), I'm just canning the idea of getting a new carrier and going with 3.42 thick gear instead!
