REAR END SHOPPING for my ZZ4

Hey whats up guys. So its that time, theres a new crate motor, (turn key zz4 350) and a street fighter 700 r4 tranny in the car and the 2.73 gears just aren't cutting it. I was hoping to put in a new rear with 3:23 or 3:42 gears in (i thought about 3:73 but i drive on the highway a fair amount) and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to wear to look. I learned the hard way that when you start building up a project car money seems to just disappear out of your wallet but if possible i'd like to save a few bucks doing my rear. I was looking at complete moser rear ends and they seemed to be a fortune. Does anyone have any suggestions as to wear else i could look or any options i might have? Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

Re: REAR END SHOPPING for my ZZ4

Is this mainly a daily driven car? If so just find a used 9 or 10 bolt with a better gear ratio. Upgraded rear ends are for hard launches on slicks at the track.

Re: REAR END SHOPPING for my ZZ4

Just get you a 3.23 or 3.42 "thick" ring & pinion set for your 10-bolt's Series II carrier. It will be your best bang for the buck. And don't forget to swap the speedo gears. You'll be about 10-12 mph. off if you go all the way to 3.42.
