5 speed conversion

i am looking to first put a T5 transmission in my car. i wanted to know if there is anything that i am forgetting i need. obviously there is the trans, clutch and brake, shifter, master cylinder, and slave cylinder. i plan on getting used so i need to know if i am forgetting something. obviously i know all the mounting hardware and brackets as well.

after that, comes the 3.73's but one step at a time

Re: 5 speed conversion

Yes, do not put a v6 t5 in a v8 car, it wont bolt up.

I have a v8 wc t5 im selling... Everything you will need minus the pedals and the interior trim.
pm me if interested.

Re: 5 speed conversion

you should be able to just get a new PROM for your computer. The tbichips would work for you.

Re: 5 speed conversion

i have found a good deal. i talked the guy down to 375 from 600 by letting him keep 2 flywheels. the only thing is he doesn't have bolts (found them on ebay for 25 bucks) or the clutch safety connector switch. is this connector thing important? doesn't it disable the car from starting without the clutch in all the way? if it is important, where can i get one? i haven't seen them on ebay.

Re: 5 speed conversion

it's only important if you dont want the car to start without the clutch fully depressed, when I did my conversion I never got around to hooking the saftey switch up, I just had the wires connected so it would start regardless of clutch position.

Same here. I bought the switch, but I never got around to hooking it up. Just be careful about it being in gear when you go to start it. After the swap it took me a couple of weeks to get out of the habit of hop in and turn the key like when the car was an auto.... Luckily, there was never anything in front of the car whenever it lunged forward.

There's a bolt list on the page that I posted the link to. I picked all of mine up from Home Depot.
