im swapping over to a th350 and transbrake behind my turbo v6 i was just gonna go with a 10inch 4k stall ,but i know someone with an 8inch 6k stall used that i can pick up pretty cheap.

i prolly wont get the 6k out of it maybe 5k,but on the transbrake who knows

can the 8inch converters hold up to street driving, i dont mean 10 mile trips to the store etc. im talking a 120 mile round trip down the shore once a weekend etc

i currently have the 700r4 with a 9.5 inch 4k stall and its never given me a problem just curious on the 8 inch converters though

6000 stall isn't bad if the advertised duration of your camshaft is at least 324*. It still isn't very streetable. At low rpms, the converter will be slipping a lot and creating a huge amount of heat in the tranny oil.

Re: 8 inch 6k stall street driving ?
268/272 adv its a v6 turbo car its rated for 6k behind a small block so im assuming id get 5k out of it behind the v6.

the cam i have should make peak power around 7k rpms but the problem is when driving around in non boost conditions the motor really dont make anykind of power maybe 200hp.

i figured go with the 8 inch cause its smaller and lighter then the 10 inch.
i want at minimum a 4k stall.
any suggestions?
