Transmission Inquisition
Well, almost got the POS back together and running...until MYZ realized the engine wouldn't turn by hand. So, I pulled the tranny back about 1 inch after disconnecting the torque converter from the flywheel. Upon doing this, the engine will turn by hand fine, BUT the tranny wouldn't budge!
So, I pulled the tranny off completely and replaced the torque converter hopeing it might just have been locked up, and the 2nd one did the same thing. With the TC off, the inner shaft will turn by hand and the rear shaft follows along as expected, but the outer shaft(pump-shaft) won't budge).
Is this normal? What suggestions does anyone have? I would LOVE to hear it was something simple. The 700R4 transmission supposedly rebuilt prior to my obtaining possession of it.
SIDE NOTE: the force required to turn the tranny is enough when connected w/the flywheel, it won't let the motor turn fast enough to start...but when disconnected, the engine does fine.
