No 2-4 shift on my 700r4 need help!!!!!
I just rebuilt my 700r4 and now it skips 2nd.I have to punch the gas and let off of it at about 30ish then it will go into 3rd,I also dont have 4th gear. During the rebuild i installed a tci rebuild kit along with a shift kit... could this be a gonernor or 2-4 servo problem or???? im really lost and dont have another car. BTW i have all the other gears including revers and i have checked the tv cable with a pressure gauge along with the 2-4 anchor pin any help is appreciated

With it not having both 2nd & 4th I would start by pulling the servo asssembly. Check the seals, stackup, etc. against a diagram. It may be as simple as the spring fell off the apply pin and is blocking it up.

Ok well i poped the servo off and everthing seems to be right, no broken seals or anything.Im 100% sure that it is installed correctly because i asembled it how the Atsg book told me to.if anyone has some info on my problem it would help me out alot thx

when you reassamled the trans you may have not put the band on the anchoring pin point properly. or it may have fallen off somehow.
