Hey guys, so i was happily driving along when my automatic transmission started dropping gears, aka the transmission blew. Awesome. So anyway i love that car and have owned it for about 3 years now, being that i am a university student i don't have the $2200 or so to put a new one in. So that leaves me with the options of; Put in a used tranny for $800 or so, or drive around with a top speed of 40 km an hour. I really don't want to do either of those for obvious reasons. So my questions are; are rebuilt transmissions for a 2.8l v6 cheaper in the states? If i go for a used one, other than low milage what should i look for? and Does anyone with a v6 parts car have such a transmission they would be willing to part with?
Thanks

Oh i should mention questions i don't need answered are; Is it worth fixing a V6 car as i know 90% of the people on this website would say no, get a v8. So to everyone who feels like posting hat answer, thanks i get it.

Re: V6 Transmission help
Have you checked Bowtie Overdrives? You should be able to get a rebuilt one with warranty for around $1100. I'm not positive, but I think the 700r4 is the same regardless of V6 or V8.

Re: V6 Transmission help
ya i think the only transmission that will fit is the stock one, cuz lets be serious if there were such a thing, what junkyard would have such a thing.
