if i put a 3.42 posi rear in my 350 t-5 camaro am I risking blowing up the transmission or will it be ok??? also does anyone know the procedure for installing a whole rear end? how hard is it?

The procedure is in the Haynes 82-92 Camaro or Firebird manual.

I'd say the 3.42 axle is fine; I had one in my '86 Firebird.

Replace the brake cables & hoses in the back since you'll have that stuff disconnected anyway. Find new ones thru http://www.carparts.com or a local store. If you go to http://www.yahoo.com and search for "carparts.com coupon", you can usually find some sweet online coupons. I used one, and paid around $65 for a $110 purchase of brake parts.

Sounds like FUN to me! 1st will just wind out a little quicker then say the 3:08 I have in my 92Z28convt5spd.
