Shift Kit

When I bought my car, it had a shift kit installed. I'm not sure which one, but the car lurches when it shifts. It is fairly annoying. Is this normal, and is there any way to tune it down other then getting it removed which i assume is fairly expensive. Any help is appriciated. Thanks

a lot of shift kits, and a lot of people, use type f fluid, or a aftermarket fluid, like type f. type f fluid makes your shifts firmer. you maybe able to change your filter and fluid and replace it with gm type fluid. you'd have to allow the trans to pump out some fluid through the cooler lines at the radiator.
