I just got a new 350 in my 86 transam...i remember i had the tranny redone a couple years back and the guy put in a vette servo....
i took it to another shop to get the seals redone on the tranny and they readjusted the TV cable to softer shifts and it shifts early.
Which way to I move the cable to make it shift later and harder. Thanks..

With the car off, push in the large vertical rectangle button on the side of the TV cable bracket. You stand on the driver's side of the engine to do this. It will require some effort to push. With the button held down, push the black plunger that sits on the TV cable toward the firewall. Let go of the button. Get inside the car and floor the gas pedal. Hard. You'll hear the TV cable mechanism ratchet, it will click several times. Your TV cable is now adjusted.

I do that and it wont ratchet in. i don't know why, so i have to have the button in and have someone else floor the pedal. is something wrong with that?

You skipped over a step that MrJ has in there: "Let go of the button."
Instead of flooring the gas pedal, you can crank open the throttle body to WOT by hand. I do this so I can watch the TV cable re-adjust...
