something weird is going on with my tranny.... when im at highway speeds in drive or overdrive and let off the throttle you can hear and feel the car slowing down, when i pull out and dont get passed second gear and let off the throttle the car acts like it is in neutral and dont slow the car down and the engine goes back to idle. if i manually shift the tranny down no problems at all and it shifts down perfectly. it shifts great going up through the gears and by just placing the shifter in drive or overdrive and chirps second gear . anyone have this problem or know what could be wrong?

Guessing... It could be your torque convertor is having problems with locking up. I don't know to much about automatics though.

 

actually its working fine now after about a week of driving it to work. maybe its because it isnt run often. the shop that did the rebuild said it sounds like something in the valve body sticking.

 

If it works fine now, it sounds like the governor was stuck for a little while, and you freed it up. Make sure that the fluid is in good shape.
