I have been looking around to find a place to get my transmission rebuilt and done right but can't seem to find a place that i trust. I was thinking about just buying one and having someone put it in for me. anyone know of one that i can buy for about a grand and have shipped to illinois? I'm desperate to find a good reliable company.

You might want to try posting on the "aftermarket vendors" message board. ProBuilt Transmissions is one guy (he posts here), there's also B&M ( http://www.bmracing.com ) and TCI , but I think their prices will be out of the $1k range. These 3 places give you a built-up trans, not a 100% stock one.

As to stock, there's places like Jasper that sell rebuilt transmissions to trans shops.
