Should I use a TH350 or T56 w/ a roots-blower?
Should I use a TH350 or T56 w/ a roots-blower?
I have a '84 Z28 that goes 11.50's at 118 mph. in the 1/4 mile. I'm running a TH350 now, but miss shifting gears. I have a Currie 9" rear, so I'm not concerned with rear breakage. Should I leave my car like it is? Will the T56 hold up? Will my car slow down? Speed up? Please help me out.

Well if you got the cash put the T-56 in, I'm sure you'll be able to increase your 60' times and knock a few tenths off your 1/4 mi times. You'd have to probally change the gearing too. Who knows!?? I don't, I havn't even trotted down the track yet. But I would think you could wind it out more.
Just my thought since nobody replied yet.
Oh, will it hold up? don't know. let us know

Hell YES, get the T-56, it will what you have and more. Once you drive one, you will NEVER want anything else. I know that some will talk about consistency, but like you said your running 11.50's. The T-56 handle those low 60's plus, you will get BETTER gas mileage along with those great time. The best of both worlds, what else can you ask for?
T-56 ALL THE WAY
With just that addition, imagine how much MORE your car will fetch you when and if you go to sell it? HTH's

I would too get rid of the 350. I did the opposite swap because my trany was bad and I got a good deal on the 350. The new trany is a little better but I still miss the old one.
