WC T5 ?s!

I have a WC T5 out of an 87 GTA. Was powershifting one day, went to go into third, the shifter popped back at me, and started to make funny noises and grinding when I put it in third. This tranny is going to be going behind a 350 soon... so I gotta get it good and then beefed up a bit. Ideas on what the hell happened? Or prices to fix it all?? Thanx guys!

3rd gear is basically the worst choice to decide to powershift into. It's well known as this trannies softest spot. Just don't horse around with it behind that 350 and it shall survive just don't be too surpised if it does ever blow up.
