91 firebird 5 speed problems :(

91 firebird 305 5 speed. Well it rained pretty hard today everything was working fine. I drove the car home and had to drive through some streets that were flooded over the curb. I wasnt going fast.. I was in first gear putting through everything. I pull my car up in the driveway. I turned it off, went inside and came back out later to go somewhere. I start the car and it will NOT go in gear. I checked the resevoir level and made sure it was full. I push the clutch down with the car running and the actuator is moving about a half inch back and forth. My manual says that is plenty of movement. Im not sure whats going on. Anybody think they know what happened? My manual says the number 1 cause of a car not going into gear is a bad pilot bearing. Im just floored on how driving it through a little bit of water could have made that bearing go out. Any input would be thoroughly appreciated. thanks in advance.
