Torque Converter recommendations
I will be buying a torque converter and shift kit. Have decided on the Transgo 700 for shift kit.
My question is, which torque converter should i get, price is not an object.
Car is mildly modded with everything else stock:
Auto tranny 4L60
3.73 rear
305 TPI
2055 hooker headers
catco cats
american thunder catback
holley 52MM throttlebody
I am aiming in the 2400 stall range, but my question are:
Does Input Spline Quantity make any difference?
Does Anti-Ballooning Plate make any difference?
Does lockup or non-lock make any difference?
Does Diameter (in) make any difference?
Any recommendationed Torque Converter to buy?

Re: Torque Converter recommendations
Any 11" or 12" street converter will work for you. Your motor is stock so it's power range hasn't changed. A 2400 stall will give you a little more response and will be enough for you. If you wanted something that will be noticeable and worth the effort and money you can try a 26-2800 stall which will work well with the 3.73' and later will be maximized with a little bit better cam.
The early 700r4's had 27 spline( i think) and the later ones have 30 spline. Thats what you need. You also need a lock up converter because if you change to non l/u, You will have to reprogram the PCM because the trans will go into safe mode and stay in second.
Ballooning plates are welded to the pump side and cover side of the converter to prevent the excessive pressure built in the converter from things like, Trans brake, NOS, Blower, etc...You will not need them.
If you wanted to buy what you need, $274
$165 for the shift kit.
I have both items available and I ship to Canada.
PM me if you have any questions

PCM will have nothing to do with it. the only thing the ECM controls on a 700R4 is the lock-up. it will still shift into drive and overdrive. if he gets a non-lock p converter and puts it into a stock tranny, he will burn the tranny and converter up.

Re: Torque Converter recommendations
Your probably right? I deal with 500-2500 HP apllications with T-350's, 400's and Powerglides. I don't know the specifics of the electronic stuff that well. Thanks for clearing that up
anyway...
The Converter that you posted is about $100 more than mine and is the exact same thing. I can sell you a 10" street/strip converter, superior than both, for less than the one you posted.
Also, those bolts are for high horsepower applications. You would be okay with a 5.99 set of moroso's.
take a look at our site.
