Are the B&M kits worth the extra 100+ bucks over say AutoZone's rebuild kits? Also I'm looking for a cheap t5 swap setup at the moment, so if anyone knows someone with one set to go in a v6...

Cmon, folks. I'm sure someone's played with one before.. I don't want to sink 100 extra into something not worthwhile... and I'm gonna have to rebuild my tranny soon.

I'd put B&M over AutoZone any day!
Of course if you don't have the $$ then you should go with AutoZone.
Make sure of the 700r4 kit you buy, though- one of the 700r4 kits comes "just" with the parts, the other costs more but comes with an installation manual.

I have that book, it's great; saves you on buying some tools, too. You can also buy an ATSG service manual from http://www.naparts.com ; give them a call, and tell them what year/model trans you need the ATSG book for. Mine ran me $15 or so. (It's the same stuff that's in the GM Service Manual; but it does have some recall/TSB info in the back.)

I had the shop put the B&M stuff in during my recent rebuild/strengthen job and it seems like good stuff. The quality of the pieces is much better than the cheapo kits, especially the clutch/band friction materials...
DO the B&M!!!
EDIT:
Oh, forgot to tell you that the B&M kits basically have all the Shift Improver stuff with them so the shifting is AWESOME. The extra money spent on the B&M overhaul kit is saved over not having to buy/install a shift-kit, later, too...

How many hours of labor normally for a 700r4 rebuild? Prolly going to do it myself, but if it isn't hell on labor costs I might just do it the warrantied way...
