I've just recently purchased my first thirdgen(90Iroc), I want to upgrade to rear disk brakes without spending a fortune, on a recent trip to my local wrecker I spotted a 93-95ish Z28 with the rear end still in it.Because I was in a hurry(Cold weather) I didn't have a good look at it,my questions are A) will this rear fit on my car B) did they come standard with rear disk brakes? C) what type of rear is it most likely to be? My car has a 305 with 2.73 posi rear in it now.
D) IF it will fit how much trouble is the swap

Thanx

4th gen rears will bolt up, they're few inches wider. you'll have to use 4th gen wheels, or somthing with the same back set. the 90 iroc is one of the harder to find thirdgens.

Yeah, the 4th gen rear is wider, so you would have to use rims with zero offset. (your current rims have negative offset).

Everything else will bolt up, but there is no gauruntee that you will get disc, posi, or even decent gears (depending on what it was).

Be patient, and shop around. If you look on the thirdgen classifieds, you will see that a disc brake posi rear was for sale, $150, but to late, I picked it up last Saturday. Good deals like that don't last long, but they do come around, just keep an eye out.
