Need parts to convert to WC T-5
I'm beginning to gather all the parts I'll need to swap my 700R4 out for a T5. My problem is I don't know where to begin. The junkyards in my area have barely any thirdgens, so finding a donor car is nearly impossible here. Is there anyway I can score myself a nice WC T5 on the net? Some kind of junkyard search or something. The other problem is how much should I really expect all the parts to cost. I keep hearing different amounts. Somebody says it costs nearly as much as a T-56, someone else says it can be had for a song. For once I need to know what I should expect so I can start ASAP. I can't afford to wait for my transmission to take a dump before starting on the T5.
Also, did all V8 thirdgens come with the WC T5 or only TPI models?
------------------
'88 IROC 305 TPI
Crappy 700R4 slushbox
Gutted airboxes
180 degree T-stat
Advanced base TPS voltage
Relocated IAT sensor
Momo steering wheel (gotta luv it)
Ram-air setup coming soon
Flowmaster muffler (puke)
Taylor SpiroPro wires
Accel cap and rotor
Kills: '94 Z28, Olds Aurora V8, bunch of Mustangs, T-birds, ricers, and others who assumed a 12 year-old car would be too slow.

I am doing the same swap right now and am in the process of buying everything that i need as well. So far, this is what i have spent on parts:
87 non WC T-5, out of a 305TPI with bellhousing and clutch fork was $100
New clutch pak was $182
hydraulic system was $50 with petal *** 'y
standard shift starter was $62
Hurst billet shifter was $162.95
Console pieces and lower floor boot were $20
I still need to buy a flywheel, panhard bar bracket, and pay for the trans rebuild - hope this helps - Erik

88-92 T5's are all World Class, regardless of the car it came out of. There is a section in the FAQ here on what you need to swap.

88IROC - i have a bellhousing with for and slave cyl if you are interested.
EvilTA - i have a flywheel from an 84 L69 if you are still looking. I may have a panhard bracket (have to check)
