Beginning project, what transmission?
Beginning project, what transmission?
Well, I said I wouldn't do it. I told myself there was no way I would have the time or the money. But the heck with it, I've decided it's time to start my project. My goal for HP/TQ is in the 450-500 range. I'm looking for a manual tranny that can cope with that. What do you guys recommend. Of course cheaper is better, but I have a feeling with numbers like that, that it probably won't be cheap.
year one has a few tremec 5 speeds in the nextgen catalog. they have a tremec 3550 rated at 425 lb-ft and a tremec TKO rated at 525 lb-ft. the 3550 is $1700 and the TKO is $2000. they have all of the gadgets and whirlygigs to put it in the car, too.

Hey why a tremec? Im not trying to start a war but why a tremec over a t56. Im serious about it because I took my T5 apart to put a rebuild kit in it and Im totally lost on how to get the thing back together. I just went and got a 2400 loan to get a new tranny to go behind my zz430 with 430 lbs of tourqe. I havent orderd a thing yet but was going oreder the aftermarket t56. But like I said I havent orderd a thing yet so Why a tremec?
