Shift kit with 85k ??
I have been reading the posts about tranny problems with shift kits in high mileage 700r4s. I was looking at a 2500-2800 stall and transgo shift kit for the original 700r4 in my 89 formula. The tranny works fine and I'd hate to wait for problems before I get a shift kit.

85k isn't too bad.. if the tranny works OK then I'd do it. If it were 120k, I'd say otherwise.

From what ive heard from most people, including a few shops, and probuilt, is that high miles are ok, as long as it still performs fine. If you are putting it in trying to solve some slipping problems it will just kill it. But as long as it is still in good shape, a shift kit isnt bad for it. I have 200,000 miles on mine...still contemplating as ive heard different opinions...but for the most part heard its ok as long as the tranny still works well.
