I have a little problem. I swapped out the 305 TPI i had and put in a minirammed 406. With the 305, there was crisp shifts at 4800 everytime at WOT. normal shift was about 3000-3500.

Now, the car shifts into 2nd and then 3rd at around 1800-2000. So I am constantly in 3rd gears. Any ideas?

It has a vigilante convertor with a 3000 stall. could the springs be out of whack?

Sounds like the TV cable is too loose.
Release TV cable lock and pull cable to rear of car. Reset cable lock. With engine off, push accelerator pedal to the floor. Cable
should ratchet to proper position. Take car
for test drive.
