REAR END DRAIN PLUG STUCK?!?!?!

Whomever put the plug back in last stripped the hell out of it. Tried with ratchet, it just stripped more. Tried with a reversed thred screw to back it out, and it still wouldn't budge. Is the plug it self a reversed thred? What can I do?! It's like a big hole now. HELP!

'85 z28 TPI 305 late model. Can't find numbers on the rear end, 120k original i think.

It is not reversed thread.

relax, it is not a big deal.

you can warm the area up with a propane torch (not oxy/acet). If the plug still doesn't come out, then MIG a large bolt to the plug and force the plug out using the bolt to pull on.

Once the thing is out just retap the hole for the next larger size pipe-plug.

Remove cover and drain to clean out any debris from this operation.

There is no pressure in the rear-end (it should be vented) and the fluid level should stay below the plug, so little worry of leaks from the plug.

I would think it is easier just to replace the cover with another from a pick-a-part.
