transmission slipping????

Car: 90 Formula
Engine: 350
Transmission: 700R4
transmission slipping????
I don't really know what is going on. But when my car shifts at part throttle, it takes a second and kind of moans before it shifts to the next gear. At WOT it shifts quickly and feels good. The tranny was recently rebuilt by an Aamco specialist using all heavy duty parts. Would a shift kit solve this problem? If so I guess I can go ahead and do this when I put my torque converter in.
Also, will this hesitation between shifts heat up my transmission causing premature wear?
