HELP, I lost OD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had a rebuilt 700R4 tranny put in my car yesterday. The guy said that I needed a new shifter cable, but he wasn't able to get it fast enough. Now I am in Colorado, and the shop is in New Mexico. I know that they'll take care of me when I get back to school. I just am wondering if it is the tranny or just the cable.

The deal with the cable is that it is loose in the bracket where the shifter is so, it doesn't always go into park. My dad is thinking that it is just the cable.
Also with the gear selctor in the OD position, I would be going 70 MPH on the highway and be at around 3500 RPM when I needed to go faster, then the RPM's would fall to 1000 RPM with my foot off of the pedal.

Thanks in advance for the info,
Jesse

I'd guess that it's just the shifter cable, try to find a way to tighten it up so it works correctly in all gears and see what happens, or just take it to a shop and see what they tell you. It shouldn't be that big of a deal.
