Gear Ratios?

I own an 84TA 4bbl HO. Unfortunately it is only a regular differential and I'm looking to switch in a posi unit. I was wondering what the gear ratio would be of this REGULAR differential, and if it is available in a posi set up (that way I don't have to worry about changing the speedo gear). On the Tech page, it was listed that my kind of 84 (AUTOMATIC) would have either 3.42 or an optional 3.73. Thanks for any replies.

Do you have a set of 3 letter codes on a sticker in the glove box? What are the ones that start with G?

Or, what are your RPMs on the freeway at 70 MPH in drive (not overdrive)

The sticker in the counsel is destroyed. I can't read it. I'll have to check the RPMs. I was just wondering if anyone might know off hand. If not... I'll have to use the equasion. Thanks.

Well, you looked it up and it said you can have 3.42's or 3.73's. If you dont know which one, how are we supposed to know? You could have either.

Put in a PowerTrax and you'll have power to both wheels, and you'll keep whatever gear ratio you have now. It's about the same price as a posi carrier, and since you can do it yourself, you won't have to pay somebody to set it up.
