not necessarily concerned with HP its more the torque thing that you have to worry about. to answer your ? i believe that the t-5 is rated at 300 ft/lbs and the Wc t-5 is rated at like 310 ft/lbs or something real close to that. i would say just go for the t-56 its much stronger and its double overdrive so you can get away with 4:10's

Well, Im looking for the cheapest easiest way to swap a v-8 into my car...

I'd love a 6 speed!
BUT!....
The t-56 swap costs a lot more than just swapping a built 5 speed in.

Thanks so far...
Any other info?

There is no cheap easy way to do anything. Do it the best way and be done with it.

Kevin,

Why do you have a 5spd on your car right now?
Maybe the same reason I still have a v-6... Money!

Besides, if you did everything the best way, your car would be in the 12's or 11's.... Money is the issue!!

Sorry about the lack of information I'm about to relay. It's been awhile so I forgot the name of the place where I bought my T5. The place was located in either Bloomfield Hills, MI, or it was New Bloomfield Hills, MI (Detroit Area). I saw their ad for rebuild kits in an old Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine (hey, I'm equal opportunity!). 3 or 4 years ago the price was $1160 for a brand new T5 with your choice of two 5th gear ratios. if you have trouble locating the source email me and I'll dig through my old magazine boxes and find the ad for you.

later
Clem

I have a 5-speed because thats what the car came with.
I'd be in the 12's with my previous engine if I could drive. Since I cant, I saved my money and put together a new more powerful engine.
