lockup wiring

any way I can make my torque converter lock up manually? I have 3 or 4 wires coming out of the four prong connector on my 700r4. Is it as simple as grounding a wire or connecting two together via switch? and if so which wires? even though I long ditched my factory ecm and engine harness, would the wires for the torque converter still be live coming to the ALDL connector? any way to test?
