Where can I get a new 700R4

Okay, I trashed my 700R4 again. I decided not to screw around and I called TCI. They gave me the part number for the tranny for my car 89 GTA. I order it from Jegs, it arrives and Guess What! It's the wrong one, it's a short tail-shaft 700R4 and mines a long tail-shaft. Has anyone else had this problem? TCI says that's the only length 700R4 they sell. Who sells a 700R4 to fit a 3rd gen? I need one yesterday!

Try pro-built.net. He builds 700R4's custom tailored to your car and driving habits. It takes him about a week to build it for you. I'm getting one from him. It should be here early next week. I hope that helps.

Okay how can I get ahold of Pro-Built Transmissions and what does he charge for one? As for the long/short tailshaft, still waiting on TCI. They are the ones claiming I have the wrong length tranny in the car. We're battling it on long-distance right now.

The short tailshaft is from the Corvette. They are apx. 1" shorter in length than the normal 700R4. The price is $1300.00 outright.
This is a street/strip or road racing 700R4 transmission that comes with a one year warranty. Which torque converter were you planning to use? I am a distributor for Continental & Precision Industries, both have excellent reputations for their torque converters. Give me a call at 800 7763288 Mon-Sat 11-7 PST. If you want to talk to me tonight?, you can call me till midnight PST.
When you call I will answer any questions you might have. Glad Too Help!!!

Okay, got this all straightened out today. Yes I have a long tailshaft 700R4, that's the standard one, Corvettes came with a shorter tailshaft. The one they sent me was for a 4X4 Pickup. I guess they figured I wanted to go mudding or something. Jegs finally admitted they sent the wrong tranny with the right part number and are drop shipping me the correct one.
I want to thank Pro-Built Transmissions for his assistance. If I had the time I definitely would have gotten the tranny from him, but I've already been without the car for 2 weeks and I need it running ASAP. If you decide to get a new tranny I recommend you talk to him. His price is less than any of the trannys through Jegs, Summit or from Jet and he will custom tailor it to your vehicle.
