4th gen rear... should I or not?
I've found some 4th gen rears for $250-$300 and I'm wanting to put gears in my car right now. I have a '96 T56 and 3.08 drum/Posi rear right now. I'm wanting to go to 4.10' soon. I have to routes to go:
1) Buy $100SLP posi unit, GM 4.10's($200) and a install kit ($100) and have a buddy (professional) install them. $400-$450 and still no discs.
*OR*
2) Buy used 4th gen rear ($300) and buy gears ($200) or just keep the 3.42's. Then, for about $500 I'd have 4.10/posi/discs and be ahead of the game.
What should I do?
*Any things I should be warned about b4 attempting this swap? I've read the tech articles and it seems straight forward.
THANKS
