hello there!i want to ask you something that concern me very much!one of my cars are equiped with the 305 engine and the th200 transmision!a friend of mine selling me a th350c transminssion out of an 1981 oldsmobile cutlass!i know that it is a lock up transmission but i will not use the lock up anyway!i just heard that oldsmobile transmissions have different bellhousing pattern and wont fit chevy small block engines!is that true???thanks a lot guys!your help is much apreciated!!

 

If his car has a Chevy engine, which I suspect it does in 81, it'll bolt up fine.

The older ones, were the B-O-P pattern...Buick-Olds-Pontiac patterns.

 

no!his car has a 260 v8 oldsmobile engine!my mechanic told me that the top mounts on this transmission is reverse patern and also diffrent distance clearance between the top mount bolts!if its true this is a pitty cause it is a very good shape and workinf perfectly transmission!

Nope, won't "simply" bolt up...It would be like trying to put a Ford tranny on a Chevy. Just won't bolt up.

Now....You could buy an adapter to mate them together, no doubt there. But then you'd hafta figure out mating the output shaft of the engine to the tranny, but that is possible too & not hard, with a little looking around.

 

yes i see your point my friend but this is greece and i have no the luxury of go out and search for those things!hahaha!i prefair look for a th350 for my engine!thanks anyway!my friend also sell the engine..or both engine and trans in a very good price!i am thinking of by them for my next camaro project that i will begin in a couple of mounths!this camaro have a 2.8 v6 engine so this 260ci engine will be perfect!althought that has only 120 hp!
