#10 Copper Ball under TV Cable bracket question?

The TransGo kit does not mention whether or not this copper ball needs to be put back in or not. Does it need to be there? The copper ball is at the top of the valve body under the TV cable bracket. No mention in Transgo kit but I noticed it needed to be there from GM manual.

Many places tell you to omit it, but I'm a "by the book" person, so I always put it back. I think if you knew what it was for, you would put it back in.

You can leave it in or out.
What does that ball do??

Well, it is a sfety device in case your tv cable breaks. It will force the line pressure
high all the time giving you wot shifts (even at part throttle.)

If you work on your own stuff you can leave it out. I have had some of them give me problems with the ball not un-seating with a cable that stretched. But I prefer to leave them in.

The only problem you will have by leaving it out is you will burn up the tranny if you forget to hook up the tv cable and keep driving it. As is you won't notice the early/soft shifts.
