Need advice: V6 vs. V8 transmissions
Need advice: V6 vs. V8 transmissions
I am converting my Firebird from an automatic to stick, and can get a good deal on a T-5 setup. The only thing is that it is from a 2.8L V6 car. Is there any way to make this work with a V8 bellhousing? What other parts from a V8 car would I need? I've heard everything - that the v6 tranny is totally incompatible, to that all you need is the right bellhousing and flywheel. I really need some honest info so that i know if i should pick up on this deal. Thanks.

I'd pass on it. The V8 setup is better, stronger, and easier.
