700r4 help

I am installing a 700r4 from a 87 camaro in my hotrod and I was told I can hook up a toggle switch to the transmission for the overdrive. I see there is a three prong plug and not sure what is what on it, what prong is the power and what is teh ground and what is the third prong for? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Bill

A is the power, D is the ground.

Re: 700r4 help

I looked at it and I dont see any letters on the plug. I see there are three prongs and there is on eon top, one under that one and one to the right of that one. I'm lost. This is what it looks like.

Re: 700r4 help

the drivers side front will be the power. but you have to pull the pan to check on the ground situation. some tcc solenoids only have one wire internally(the power one). some tcc sols. have two wires a power and ground. pin a (the left drivers front) is where the power will go to.
I modify my own and use a TH400 connector because it only has one pin and fits the case. I also use a two wire t.c.c. solenoid. I hook the red from the solenoid to the one wire connector and the black to a N.O. (normally open) fourth gear switch. Doning it this way simplifies wiring and is cheap since most cores use a N.O. fourth switch. the switch will apply ground in fourth when pressure hits it so lockup can only occur in fourth when the power is supplied to the t.c.c sol. NOTE: the fourth switch is the one closest to the 1-2 accumulator housing (the housing uses three bolts and is on the drivers side).
