I have a 700R4 from an 88 corvette that I had built for my 86 iroc. Shortly afterward I decided to do an LSx swap and I got a freshly built 4l60e, but it was built to factory specs. Since I have this 700r4 just sitting here I was wondering if anyone knew if I could swap any of the internals to the 4l60e so I could get a semi "built" 4l60e. What about the converter? I figure the servo can be swapped over but those are cheap enough its probably not worth it.

The trans internals are the same, the the "e" may have some upgrades that yours may not have gotten or vice-a-versa. The case and the valve body are not interchangeable, the pump would at least need the aux vb port plugged(haven't looked closely at the pumps to say for sure it's useable otherwise).

The LS motor is not compatible with a regular sbc converter.

 

actually the LS and "regular converter" can be used together. The flexplate will need to be changed. I do 700r4's behind LS engines and that is all it needs. Of course the TV is hooked up. There are companies that sell the "special flexplate"..
hope this motivates people to do LS swaps! anyone??
